Adaption is good
- It allows us to protect and ballance systems or tissues that have been shocked from trauma
- It readys us to react quickly and in our best interest when exposed to the same trauma again
- It readys us to repeat a physical or mental process that we do over and over again so that we can do it more quickly and better
- the holding pattern created is a small cost for the protection deemed necessary
- By automatically reacting one way, the body is not flexible to act another way
- When our environemnt no longer requires that we react the old way or responses are not relevant to our current surroundings or demands
- By facilitating one reaction in our body, it causes physical restriction which adds up and eventually causes pain
- The big issue is that we have a lot of adapting to do with less nurturing
- We live in a high stress world
- Our food sources are not as rich in nutrients as they were even 50 years ago
- The toxins in our environment have increased
- Our social support systems are lacking
- We ignore our traumas instead of addressing them as they happen
- We adapt, adapt, adapt, until we are adapted into a corner
- Our environment has changed and we no longer need our old form of adaption
- Flexibility and increased energy are more important to you now than the old protetions and holding patterns are
- Pain is a communication from your body, encouraging change
- Sometimes you can - sometimes your body just needs acknowlegement and support. Sometimes a change in exercise, stretching, nutrition, or rest can be enough to get you feeling good again.
- Sometimes you can't see what the issue is - adaption is hard for the body to identify, as we can't see where we can't see. Having another person to talk to or work with can be valuable. Whether it be a counselor, yoga therapist, physical trainer, massage therapist, acupunturist, chiropractor, naturopath, or so on.
- Sometimes we have adapted to such a degree that many body systems are involved - at that time you need a trained doctor that works with the body and all its systems as a whole to come up with a plan of action to restore your body to a flexible state. That is our forte at Clear Point Wellness.
